Gina-Maria Pomann graduated from TCNJ Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa in 2009. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Statistics at North Carolina State University, where she was awarded the North Carolina State Graduate Research fellowship and the Gina-Marie PomannNational Heart Lung and Blood Institute Traineeship. She is a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow and an AT&T Labs Graduate Fellow. Her ultimate career goal is to conduct research related to environmental and biological statistics while working to promote diversity in the mathematical sciences.

Gina-Maria spent most of her energy in high school learning to overcome dyslexia. After graduating, she attended Middlesex Community College and enrolled in pre-calculus course only to satisfy the general math requirement for all students. She was immediately drawn to the material and declared her major as mathematics. In Spring 2006 she received her Associates of Science degree in Mathematics with highest honors. She then entered the mathematics program at TCNJ. During her time at TCNJ she conducted undergraduate research at the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute of Berkeley, California, Princeton University, and Stanford University. She is happy to mentor any students interested in pursuing a graduate program in Statistics as well as students transferring from community college to a four year institution.
