Chemistry professor Dr. Heba Abourahma was recently interviewed by the American Chemical Society’s (ACS) Chemical & Engineering News about her symposium at the Society’s National Meeting & Expo held August 25-29, 2019 in San Diego, CA.
Professor Abourahma co-organized a symposium titled “One Million Crystal Structures: A Wealth of Structural Chemistry Knowledge,” highlighting the Cambridge Structural Database (CSD) work to bring together the 3-D structures of organic and metal-organic molecules determined experimentally by crystallographic techniques. In addition to leading the symposium, Dr. Abourahma presented a paper on “Leveraging the CSD’s one million structures in course-based undergraduate research experience.”
