“Lead Generation Approaches in Drug Discovery”
Abstract: The drug discovery process is challenging and expensive. One of the critical steps in this process relies on identifying excellent chemical leads possessing drug-like properties. High-Throughput Screen (HTS), information-based and fragment-based approaches are the most common methods for lead generation available to the medicinal chemists. Recent examples of lead generation approaches for medicinal chemistry projects in oncology, metabolic diseases and inflammation will be presented.
