Dr. Lisa Ambrose-Lanci graduated from TCNJ in 2004 with a major in Biology and minors in Chemistry, Psychology and Women and Gender Studies. She also completed the Women in Learning and Leadership and Honors Programs. Lisa received her PhD in Molecular Cell Biology from Thomas Jefferson University in 2009 under the advisement of Dr. Elisabeth Van Bockstaele, PhD. Her thesis research was funded in part by a predoctoral fellowship from the National Institutes of Health and Grants-in-Aid of Research Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society. Her thesis dissertation is entitled Influence of Opioid and Estrogen Systems on Cocaine Withdrawal in Females. Lisa is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania under the advisement of Dr. Wade Berrettini, MD, PhD. Lisa has also served as project leader for high school students admitted to the University of Pennsylvania Penn Summer Science Academy in Biomedical Research for the past three years. Lisa is involved in many professional organizations including SFN, NPA, and AWIS and is an active member of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Association for Women in Science.
