From March 13-17, 2016, 13 chemistry majors attended the 251st American Chemical Society national conference in San Diego, where they each presented the results of their research.
The students received invaluable feedback about their research from chemists from around the country and the globe. In addition to presenting their own research, the students attended a variety of talks on topics including materials chemistry, biochemistry, computational chemistry, forensic science, food chemistry, and water conservation efforts. They also attended professional development events including seminars on obtaining a job in industry, the graduate school application process, and the vendor exposition.
TCNJ’s very successful Student Chemists Association was recognized at the Student Chapter Awards ceremony, receiving two national awards: ‘Outstanding Chapter’ and ‘Green Chapter’ awards. In addition, TCNJ students presented a poster on our successful chapter and connected with other student affiliate chapters.
