The Department of Computer Science at The College of New Jersey hosted the 2013 Consortium for Computing Sciences in Colleges (CCSC) Eastern Regional Conference on November 1-2, 2013, where two TCNJ Computer Science majors presented research posters and received outstanding recognition.
Senior Teddy Sudol, who conducted mentored research with Dr. Peter DePasquale, presented “Developing a COMTOR Backend with ANTLR”. Sophomore Brandon Gottlob, currently working on mentored research with Dr. Deborah Knox, presented his poster entitled “Developing a Scalable iOS App for TCNJ Students”. Brandon was awarded the first place prize. Both posters may be viewed on the 4th floor of Forcina Hall.
The conference is designed to promote the exchange of information among college personnel and K-12 educators concerned with computer use and education in the academic environment. It provides an affordable regional forum for the exchange of ideas and information concerning computing and computing curricula.
The conference program included scholarly papers, presentations, workshops, and panels on the content, structure, delivery, support, and societal context of all areas of computing education. There were pre- and post-conference workshops, guest speakers, several tutorials, panels, lightning talks, and many sessions for papers.
